Information Net Preamble

Good evening,
 
This is CALLSIGN. My name is NAME. I am located in CITY/TOWN and I will be your net 
control for this session of the Short Mountain Repeater Information Net.
 
This net meets on this frequency each Tuesday evening at 8PM and other times as required.
 
This net is affiliated with the ARRL National Traffic System.
 
The purpose of this net is to provide means for exchange of information of interest to all amateurs.
 
All amateur radio operators are invited to participate in the net.
 
You do not have to be a member of any organization to do so.
 
This is a directed net. Those who desire to participate are required to use proper identification 
procedure.
 
Please do not attempt to relay unless requested by net control.
 
This is CALLSIGN with the Short Mountain Repeater Information Net.
 
Is there any Emergency or Priority traffic for the net?
[Listen for calling stations]
 
Are there any Bulletins or Announcements for the net?
[Listen for calling stations and check them in as they make their announcement]
 
Is there any Formal traffic?
[Listen for calling stations]
 
Any Informal traffic?
[Listen for calling stations]
 
Are there any Mobile stations or those who can’t wait for their prefix to be called?
[Listen for calling stations and check them in]
 
Are there any Out-of-State check-ins?
[Listen for calling stations and check them in]
 
Check-ins are taken at this point in any order you prefer.

BEFORE CLOSING THE NET
 
Are there any late Bulletins or announcements for the net?]

CLOSING THE NET
 
This is CALLSIGN securing the Short Mountain Repeater Information Net at TIME and returning 
the repeater to normal amateur radio use.
 

NOTES:

• Don’t forget to check yourself in.
• Don’t apologize for being nervous.
• Ask for relay if needed.
• Identify with your call and “Short Mountain Repeater Information Net” at least every 10 minutes.
• Slow the net down or up as you need to as you are in charge.
• Always identify each check-in by full call and greet personally by name.
• Have a clock nearby so you will know the correct time when you close the net.
• At the end of the net give the total check-in count to K4MBH if I am not available on the net, 
please email your count to w4wrb@aol.com
